Looks like someone put a counterstamp on the reverse, which caused part of the obverse design to flatten.

I agree that the counterstamp letters were added after this coin left the mint, but it seems odd to me that they would be backwards. Perhaps this coin was pressed onto something that had the raised letters BAKO or BAKU?

Whatever was hammered on to the coin, the devices were raised. On a set of punches, the design would be mirrored so it would appear normal on a coin. What ever it is, it is now a damaged coin. spendable
