@mrph, with regard to the ear, that looks more like damage than a lam. I'm not sure about the large vs. small date though.

Id say Large Date and just PMD around the ear.

Large date, the loop in the nine points to the S mintmark, not the middle of the 7. The 7 extends below the bottom of the zero.

Ear looks like post mint damage to me.
