some people want the "Best" registry set so they can have the #1 set so that means buy the highest graded coins that you can find (doesn't really have to be the highest graded but all the coins together have to be a higher grade combined than the #2 spots coins). If you have the #1 registry set it gives you a certain amount of fame with the set and when you go to sell the coins everyone usually pays high dollar for the coins because it is the #1 set. I had the #1 B1 reverse registry set at Collectors Society and if I had all the coins I have now attributed with their
VAM #'s I could have the #1 spot again (they are already graded by PCGS just the
VAM number isn't noted on the slab) but I kind of quit caring where I was in the registry since I started the 7070 album so it has taken a back burner for awhile. It just lets everyone else that competes in the registry know that this is a specialty you specialize in and when you go to sell they want the best of the best as well. Some people do it just to say they have the #1 set, like saying my set is better than yours or they just wanted to see if they could accomplish it, I found once you have the #1 set there is nowhere else to go and it gets a little boring so I am happy with the #2 set right now and knowing I could have the #1 set anytime I choose to do so
