Hello! I think your looking at how the P is filled? This is pretty common. A broken post I believe is what it's called. Could also be a die chip. Not an expert so don't take my word for it. Happy hunting!

I was also confused by that middle chunk between the bubble of the P and the bottom. That was what I thought was weird.

Note on the image I posted. On the mint mark you can see die flow lines that start above the mint mark, travel over and below it also. That is probably what caused the same thing on your coin, or it could be an old die scratch that the flow line enhanced. But with way it is not a premium for the coin. Just a "Die event."
