Hello. I was wondering if an expert could tell me how many edges are possible on a planchet error coin. I have a 1864 indian head with 4 clipped type edges and wondered if that would be possible to happen in a mint error coin. Thank you

I've seen a triple clip, but not one with 4 clips.

With modern stock strip-fed blanking machines, four clips is impossible. Three is the geometric maximum. This may help to visualize it:

You could have two straight clips, but that is the limit. PSD. Altered coin

ok thank you for looking at the coin . I thought the two edges by the shield may be original as the rim comes very close to the edge compared to a non-clipped coin. anyway cool old guitar pick. Thanks
