Our family went back to the States for Christmas and took to the beach at St George Island for some family metal detecting. It was a really insane experience to get the feel for detecting at an American beach. The shape of Korean beaches are quite different and the tide lines aren't as clean. The lack of trash (cans, sparklers, bottle tops) was astonishing.

This Fisher Labs F22 was my Christmas present and I love it 1,000,000% more than my cheap Walmart one. Any tips for using the F22 would be appreciated.

Instead of rubbing the sand off with your fingers (which will further scratch the coins) maybe keep a bottle of water available to quickly wash off.

@iontyre That's a good idea. I also thought of taking a soft toothbrush with us too.
