I found a 1922 Peace dollar in my basement along with a box full of old pennies starting from 1909. I have no clue what they are worth or even where to take them to be checked out

Welcome to the forum. Good front/back shots of the silver dollar in this thread can get you a grade, there's another for pennies. Nice finds!

Careful, that much excitement can lead to another, then another, then another... can get to be a nice hobby! That's how I got started on Morgans, Peace I want to do too eventually. I love these coins. Don't let the common date drag it down, they are ALL special! Especially when you know their history. Getting to where your photography skills lets you take great coin shots can be an obsession too! A nice one!

Right - another words, much better pictures are needed to grade it. Before you post, click on "PREVIEW" - that will show you what we are going to see. So if then it's blurry to you then it's blurry to everybody else!

WOW! What a find!!
Do NOT clean ANY of the coins........in any way shape or form. Ruins any numismatic value the coins have.
WELCOME!

Thank you all for a friendly welcome. I apologize for the blurry photo. Ive never really been interested in coins until now. I am overwhelmed with all the coins I found. Pennies starting from 1909. Including a steel penny from 1943. Pretty cool.

I'm off setting these in between Seated Liberty dimes and they seem to run in the mid-twenty range on ebay. Slabs starting in the thirties. Those are with bids, but would not assume much more above when sold.

Need a better picture of front and back or as we say Obverse and Reverse. Also as another said, Don't think about cleaning these coins in any way. Chances are high the value of them will go down. Not up !
