Here is another tough star from this series. Total print run for Philadelphia was a comparatively high 1.4M notes, but only 24K stars were produced.

The current census shows only 14 examples, the best being an AU-58 but the 2nd best only a VF-25. I would grade this one VF-30 or 35 - it has a single center vertical fold and two close irregular horizontal folds, suggesting it was stored in a "quartered" fashion for some time.

I'm really happy to have found this!

That's one sweet note Mr. Frog.
I'll have to post some of mine soon, although mine are quite common.

Thanks guys. It's kind of a lonely field to collect in, but I suppose if everyone wanted them I couldn't afford to be in the game. Anyone interested in the 1929 FRBNs feel free to PM me.

All of the 12 districts had stars. Dallas (K*) is known as the toughest with 12,000 printed. Four districts had 24,000 stars printed and New York (B*) had the most, with 76,000 printed. All FRBN stars are great finds.

Chicago had only 12,000 stars as well - apparently many of the Dallas issues were never released.

By the way, Steve, I just finished that great article on WWII FRBN releases in the Paper Money Journal. Must-read for fans of this series.
