Greetings all. New here. NOT an expert at all on coins. Starting out. Found this Lincoln Penny a very interesting find. Just posting for the cool factor. May consider getting graded. Not sure if worth it. But did think folks here would like to see this specimen. If it did have a line from the eye crack, to back of head, that would be just cool as a complete Pirate Eye Patch. :-) Just my designation for this coin. Anyway...have a look. Hope you like it. Dan

NOTE: The LAST picture with black eye patch BAND, I added. Just had to do it (not actually drawn on coin.
Paint shop) :-)

NOTE: Posted 1916 Mercury dime with many anomalies. In Classic Error coins sub topic area if interested.

Looks like a Lamination.

I agree Rlewis87. I read about Lamination and maybe a result of a poor metal alloy mix at pressing. Whatever it is I just got a kick out of the Pirate angle. Lots of different coins out there with similar damage. Thanks for the input.

@rlewis87 nailed it. Nice lam and worth saving in a 2x2. I chuckled at your last pic by the way!

Roger that Spence. Will do. Wanted to add that I suspected that there are a lot of 'serious' folks in this community, and take this business/Hobby seriously, and they should, so I am going to try and keep my humor and penchant for 'exciting' comments to a low roar. lol. Don't want to rub someone the wrong way. Although I do intend to up my game as a new coin seeker and see where it goes. But a little fun never hurt anyone. Anyway...that's my Two Cents (no pun intended). :-) Thanks for the input.

I would keep it. In my opinion I think this coin looks cooler then some die cracks that are considered verities. Cool find for sure.
