Well nice toning - but like Mr Frog noted - damage - you can see the metal of the nickel pushep up all around those so called errors. And learn how to crop your photos. Your background is wonderful but we really want to see the coin you are asking about! Right Mr Frog? Crickets?

Almost looks like MD on a a few die chips. The problem is that the other devices aren't showing the same thing.

Just looked at it again and what I was seeing the first time was reduction of tops of the devices. Looking again it is the bottom of the devices that are altered.

It's damaged alright but being it's a 1938-S, it isn't damaged to the point of being totally worthless. Still worth a couple, maybe few dollars, I think anyway. That is if you get a bite.
