Just want to verify the extra outline on Lincoln's neck is simple Machine Doubling, and the 4 in the date is just a worn die chip. Thanks!

I meant Die Deterioration on the end of the 4, not a chip. My bad. Thank you!

@as632, the number 4 looks like it took a hit to me more than having had a die issue.

The doubling along the neck, I do not think is MD. It was a problem in the 1960's era.

The neck is showing an enhancement the added to the weakening of the design. Even back then the widening of the master hub was becoming apparent. 1968 was the last year it was used. Replaced in 1969 with a new master hub.
