Was at a coin show this morning. Looking at a 1878-CC Morgan. Thought for sure I didn't own one. Found one at a good price in MS63. Pulled the trigger. Then checked my collecting app and see I already own one. Ugh. Need to compare them and keep the better of the two.

That happens. Maybe the new one will be nicer.
If you're in Tx,was it by chance the Grapevine show? If so, how was it. I'm thinking about going.

I'm not a Morgan guy but I like the one on the left better (blue label) -- it's whiter and has a cleaner rim, especially on the obverse.

The blue label was bought today. The green label was bought over 25 yrs ago, I think.

I like the blue label better. The toning isn't bad on the green label coin, but that splotchy toning near the date and stars makes it a bit less desirable. Both are nice, though!

I'd like to see better pics, but looking at the enlarged versions, I'm slightly in favor of the old green label example.
