Hwy14 Valued Member United States 300 Posts	Posted 02/11/2019 12:46 pm Thanks chafemasterj, the microscope is a basic e-bay buy but it works off of a Microsoft LifeCam Studio camera. I don't think this is a Dryer Coin, the damage is to localized with the devices while the fields and rim are left unscathed. There is no reason why this couldn't have come from the mint in this condition (see Cherry Pickers Guide fourth edition vol. 1 pg. 365). The photo of the date is looking straight down on the date and not at an angle which causes me to think the strike was a bouncing, glancing strike of a worn out die. Report this Post to the Staff
