 To the CCF Not quite sure what you are referring to when you say "clay error" but it looks like your quarter has been environmentaly toned with the high spots starting to wear down from circulation exposing the nickel. Just worth 25 cents.

 to the Forum It looks like someone has been experimenting with this coin, it looks plated and been that way for sometimes, there are spots with lighter,darker colors and spots without any, due to wear. But I could see why it caught your attention though! it's safe to let it go.

 To CCF! Just a damaged coin unfortunately. It's Post Strike Damage ( PSD), and it's only worth face value.

Weight? Looks very shiny for a missing clad layer.  Note on this one: The missing layer on one side made the strike weak. Yours is showing a full strike. I also agree it is not a missing clad coin.
