I love the Vikings...Norse...Scandanavians. The art, history, and culture is amazing. I particularly like contemporary Scandanavian design and architecture with natural simplicity. Visit the viking ships in Oslo for the ultimate in design, though.

OK here is my buys of the week. I received my 2006 mint set. Search through about 20-30 rolls of coins Dime, Nickels, Pennys this week. I now have most of those set done. I am just in need of some coins from 1950 and back. But here is the buy I am most happy with it is my NZ kiwi silver dollar. This has a little story behind it as well. I didn't tell my wife that I bought it. But today she called me at work and ask is there something you need to tell me. Didn't know what to say. Didn't want to get in trouble if I did something else wrong. But she said UPS just bought a package. It is from Downies. Of course she know who they are so I got busted. The good thing is that the Kiwi dollar is really the coin she likes. So I really didn't get in trouble just a funny story. Here is the coins. You can see more at my gallery

AH1327/6 (about 1915) Egyptian 2/10 Quirsh. Not a very significant coin but the thought that an Aussie or Kiwi soldier may have held it in Egypt before shipping out to a place in Australian and New Zealand history at ANZAC cove at Gallipoli makes me shiver.

Bought a August 23rd copy of Coin World. Is about all I can afford these days. I can't wait until tax time. I might actually have some money then.
