If anything, this particular variety is known for being tooled to enhance the hair details on VG to VF grades. That's the #1 thing I'd look for, but usually the seller will indicate this. Overall I thought it was a nice coin, and would have paid same for it.

I've been a busy boy this week. Enroute are: 1873 (AU) and 1911 (BU) Australian Sovereigns from HJB; 1797 Australian Netherlands Kronenthaler and 1787 Hungarian Half Thaler from TwoKopecki of this forum; and what seems to be a BU 1937 Australian Crown from ebay, which will be value for money if it makes gEF.

Pics & stories to follow. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Did I mention - I got them all for less than $500 total?

Well, here it is. 13.45 grams and looks to be an Overton O-105.

1937 Buffalo nickel. Fine. I already had one, but this one was better, and didn't cost very much.

Bruce: I think I got the good price as a reward for being a steady customer.

Yesterday's buys -- 2007 proof Statehood Quarters set. 2007 Silver Canadian Maple Leaf for my wife. Silver One Ounce Pig Australian Lunar Coin to keep my Lunar collection up to date.

Got a 1907 Gold 20 Marks for $5 over melt (AU+), a beautiful 1885-O Morgan in MS-63+ for $30, and a 2006 Canadian 1 dollar silver timberwolf for $7. Good day.
