Nice Looking coin! I have never seen this one before. I like the satin base finish on the reverse with the mirror finished features. Very cool!

Just came home from the flea market. Bought these Indian Heads: 1874, VF 1883, EF 1884, EF 1888, EF 1889, AU All are very nice, attractive coins. Guy gave me a bit of a discount just cause I'm awesome. I also bought a 2008 Red Book while I was there, he had just got his in on Friday.

This is a Gros from Wencelas II who ruled over Luxembourg from 1383 - 1419. This one has been issued during his first personnel reign (1383 - 1388). It's catalogue number in Prifix is L163. I was happy to find this one with a relatively clearly readable legend. Image: L163-Wencelas II-Gros.jpg81.1 KB

And the nearest thing I have to a key-date coin. A slightly manky 1942M 3d

Cob, Spanish I guess. May even be genuine. Still it was only $10 so who can complain.

To Becky: Is the 1840 one Dollar genuine? As I have bought same ones, but an "Honest" professional told me it is a fake, Oh my, I guess I have chosen the wrong hobby.

markn, that's a nice looking internment camp 3d. Did you have a close look at the word Camps. This is one of my latest purchases from the RAM." 2007 FINE SILVER PROOF SET". In my opinion very underrated sets.

Bought a gold 1955-M cinco pesos for $83 (2 over spot), and a very nice 1923 Peace for 17, plus a layaway for a $10 gold Liberty. Should be 330 after all is said and done. Good stuff.

Hi Gnome,
Yes it is a nice one. The CAMPS shows signs of re-tooling. It must have been made with the die set that orignally just said 'CAMP'.

I don't know how great a buy this was. but I have a little of the investor in my blood, and felt the coin may appreciate over the years. Any opinion would be appreciated. I bought a Walking Liberty half, 1938 D, Very Fine. Both the coin dealer and I feel the VF may be conservative. $225.

We bought a couple coins for our oldest son today. His birthday is coming up in early May. Since he is a family member who doesn't belong to CCF, I guess it's safe to describe what we bought. Hopefully he won't hear about it in advance of his birthday. Mike was born in 1967. So we bought a Two Cent coin and a Shield nickel. Both 1867. We'll put them in airtites, and they should make a nice display for his office.
