markn,

The obverse is much the same in hand, but the reverse is actually a little nicer than in the photograph. Beautiful colour!

Snooba.

I Bought a 1927 SLQ today for $2. Bought it not because I needed it, I just like the design.

Just bought these two this week. Filling out my Kennedy half dollars with the silver proofs. I'm retired so only get to buy a couple monthly.

I guess I have a buy of the week now, even tho it's modern. I'm a sucker for Silver Eagles, but started collecting a little too late. I had to pick up the 2006 set tho so I've been watching for a few weeks now, and prices have been coming down on ebay. My local shop has one for $650, but I bought these two for $757 total. I could sell one at the same shop for $550 to them (or at least that was the quote 1 week ago), but I think I just want to keep it now! I don't have a good camera or lighting, this is the best I can do (click here for super size image http://www.saganslab.com/WebImages/20thsets.jpg)...

I'm sure happy that my wife and I each bought one of the 2006 ASE sets. Our daughter bought three, and our oldest son bought 10!

This week I purchased a nice 1866 Three Cent VF with some nice clash marks, cherry picked a 1964-D DDO Kennedy half and 1964-D RPM Kennedy half from the "junk silver" .
I also found what I hope is even better, a 1951 Franklin half XF with the " Bugs Bunny" clash marks. I hope next time I post under this topic I will be able to supply pictures for all to see, I know I like it better with pics !
