Quote: williston nd - is my home town.... I've done some hunting around that area in the 90s. Lived Minot/Devils Lake/Grand Forks, now 35 miles west in the sticks. Hating this weather last couple weeks.

Good, maybe Very Good on a very good day. Reverse was probably not struck as well as obverse.

No opinion on the grade, but you may want to check the mint mark closely. You may have 1914-D 10¢ WRPM-001. I think I can make out the two key markers on your coin, the die crack from "A" to the second "T" in STATES and the die crack from the rim to the devices on the reverse at about 8 o'clock. The pic is a bit too fuzzy when enlarged to see the mm closely.

fortcollins here's a couple better shots for you. The mint mark matches the mint mark for D/D Tilted (Rotated), but is not tilt'd. Does not match the rest of the Ds shown. I think I see the crack between the A and T, but is that a crack, or PMD? I don't see anything at 8 O'Clock. I know absolutely nothing about these old dimes. I can take a scope pic of any area you want to see.

Ok, looking at it some more, is this what you are referring to: Interesting stuff, happy to learn more about old coins. If it is what you refereed to, does it make it a rare/valuable coin? Either way, it stays in my collection, will be my granddaughters some day.

@NDBirdman, Well, rats! Looking at the enlarged mm photo, I don't see the repunched mm. It was worth a look, though. The marks could be die scratches or small cracks, or just well-located circulation and contact marks. Still, it was worth a look. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Most of the repunched mint marks don't bring much in the way of premiums, but they can be fun to collect and sure have interest for many collectors. Collecting them can be addictive, though!
Thanks again for posting the pics and best wishes to you on the coin hunt!
