Damage? Die Break? Help! 2018 Lincoln Cent

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/17/2019 2:11 pm Can't tell for sure from the image, but if the metal is splashed away from the contact mark then it is damage. It loos like that from what I can see. If it were a struck through, then there would be no splash away from the area in question. (The item struck through would be prevented from splashing outwards because of the die, the struck through item and the coin, would be prevented from showing a metal movement on the coin. I feel I'm seeing that on the upper right side of the trench. Report this Post to the Staff

Looks like the marks, maybe from polishing, going from top left of jacket to bottom right go over the indention. Which would lead me to believe the mark was made before the polishing process.
