Found this 1919S Wheat penny today can anyone tell me if this is an error are just an old worn down coin.

Note the missing and weak letters? They were struck through a Grease Filled Die. The first to almost totally block, the 'E' not quite as much. So it was grease that was spread into the devices.

Wait a sec.... what do mean found? how did you find a 09S ? that's awesome if you found it in the wild

Anyway, I think I know what you are asking ( I think),if you are referring to the IBE of liberty..that's Struck Through Grease filled die, where the devices did not get fully struck.Good eye.

They were fully struck, its just that the grease in the dies was preventing the full strike up of the devices.

on this coin looks like you cleaned up liberty , should coins that have that look be cleaned?

The area in question maybe lighter because of the lighting? Note the full image doesn't show it lighter on that area.
