Received the email tonight from rep. Exclusive MC 2oz Pure Silver 1959 half dollar.
Lower mintage of 2500 from 4000. One per customer.
Very nice looking coin. Could be a hit.

To celebrate the 60 year anniversary of the 1959 50 cent piece?

1959 is the year a new Coat of Arms design for the 50 cents came out. That design was used from 1959-64. Subsequent 50 cents until now look similar to the 1959 design.

That's good news. I was born in 1959 and this is a must have coin for me and anyone else turning 60 years young.

With the lower mintage of 2500, I wonder how far down in the MC levels it will reach before it is a sell out?

I got another email from my rep with a sell out alert. He expects it to sell out tomorrow. Also it said I could buy another coin, so total 2. The coin is also on the RCM website for those who don't have a rep. I don't know if lower MC tiers can see it though.

Beautiful and sharp CAD rendering but almost $100 per ounce though. I'll pass.

Quote: almost $100 per ounce though. I'll pass How is this coin expensive when all RCM 1 oz coins are $100 and above. This coin is relatively cheap when compared to 1 oz coins like the Pysanka and Murano glass coins. The 2019 Pysanka coin is $129.99 for 1 oz. If it was 2 oz Pysanka it would be $260. A 2 oz coin for $194.95 is a bargain compared to others.

BTW, if the 1959 half dollar is too expensive, use the Promo Code - FEB19, which gives you $30 off $150. So you will be paying only $164.95 for it.

Quote: What's the product number on mint website? Thanks! It is 170142. Interestingly, on the coin page, it says MC coins are offered only to MC Gold tier members and above for the first 45 days. Then, Silver members get to buy them.

Thank you MoneyPenney for the FEB19 promo code. I used it on mint.ca and it worked. Where did you receive this promo code? I have never seen it on mint.ca, by mail, or from my representative.
