Wow... Lots of folks looking, lots of good pics, yet no attempts.

I will go EF 40 at least, maybe 45. I may drop it a grade if that is damage at the lower part of E in WE. I don't have many of these, so don't consider the grade necessarily accurate.

The seller has it pegged at MS63.
The big problem I have with that is the weak letters. Maybe not worn, but certainly a very soft strike.
Another spot of wear, if not soft strike, is the lower right edge of the shield. The decorative strip just above the arrow head...

It might be an AU weak strike, but from the photos, it looks like it has very little luster.

I would give it an AU Would be higher if not like you said a weak strike on the lettering. Also noted was the spot under the 'E' in WE - is that damage? Hard to tell

It sure looks like there is some wear on all the upper leaves in the wreath, and at the centers of some reverse stars. I see no trace of luster. It looks EF-45 to AU-50 to me in terms of wear. The uniform color and lack of luster suggest it has been stripped of original surface by cleaning. I don't see any hairlines, though.
I suppose it could be mint state, but these photos don't support that grade, in my opinion.

What about the rim dent... 7 o'clock on the shield side.
That knocks the AU theory in the head IMO.

In my opinion, this coin appears cleaned. It looks as if a layer has been taken away. I have doubts that it would make it by NGC or PCGS. I suspect that it is the singular color/tone that attracts you to the coin. I would suggest that is the reason you should pass.

I have had that nagging feeling from the beginning. It has a nice 'clean' look to it, and that actually scares me on this one. Like you say, it's all one level of clean and one shade of color.
The seller's bad attitude has already caused me to pass on the coin, but it might be a good thing. I have a way of 'bumping up' my own max price I'll pay for a coin over time, and this coin may have broken me eventually. The nasty seller probably did me a favor.
