First of all good morning to everyone. I came across this 2018 Lincoln Memorial cent and saw these die cracks and I thought it was kind of early in the life of this coin to be showing these and I just wondered what everyone's thoughts are on this. Here are a few images. Thanks for looking...

Maybe it's the photos but I do not see any die cracks. Just Post Mint Damage ( PMD) and corrosion.
Maybe the pros here will see something I do not.

Die cracks don't form on a coin, they form on the die that mints them.
Therefore, if a coin has a genuine die crack it was transferred from the die to the coin the moment it was struck.

I have my terminology wrong which I seem to do often. What it is is a crack/break on the coins surface. Sorry about that. I don't even know if it would be an error or not so I thought I would ask this forum. Thanks again...

No Die Cracks. Just stains from Environmental Damage.

I'm still grasping the terminology as well, no judgement from me.

I think I see what you're saying and John1 probably hit it on the head with 'staining'

But I think you may be thinking of a 'strike through' (grease or other particle matter between the die and planchet) but the incuse (AKA: impression) would have a bit more texture and the devices (eg: letters, depictions, etc.) affected would be a bit hazy, shallow, or non-existent in those areas.

I respect John1 and all of your opinions, but there is an actual crack in the surface of the coin itself and water from elements have gotten down in there and it is if I should say bleeding out of the crack which is causing the stain.

Going to need better/different pics. Maybe black and white pics?
John1

EDIT: Do a 1 hour soak in 100% pure acetone before taking new pics.

this looks like a coin that has had a real bad year, for 1 year old it's been who knows where , but it's not a Memorial but a shield , we can not see what you see , so if you can get some more pics it might help , but I'm thinking PMD ,maybe a dent , but more pics will help the pro's .good luck and happy hunting

Sorry, I meant shield. I just got used to Memorial. And I agree, you can only go by what I show you and my images are not very good at all. But I do thank you all for your input!

you can always take your coin to a local dealer or look for a coin club near you.
