The most often seen diagnostic for non-Warnickel years is the R in Pluribus, I seem to recall. Others will know more. Enter "Henning Nickel" in the search box at the top left of this page for dozens of past discussions and photos on this subject.  to the CCF

I searched photos of the 1947 Henning and found several images that are really similar also the weight matches what I've read.

I believe the most common Henning Nickel is 1944 no P War Nickel . He made some having the R in pluribus with a tail and some without .There are other years but I'm only familiar with the 1944 . The missing large P is the best way to tell .

@ Silverwolf  I have a 1947 that I have suspect to be a Henning also based upon the pics at this website and also threads from this forum. Mine is about a dead match for the 1947 on the website.

No casting marks on the outer edge but a few marking on the obverse side of the coin like raised dimples or dots..

Thanks JBuck. Any one that has any Henning nickels in their personal collection feel free to post photos of them alway enjoy comparing dies and seeing early and late strikes.
