I read in another post where Coop refers to Spider Webbing. Is this 1919-P LWC an example of that ?
Or maybe a delamination ?

That's very strange! Just my thought, but I think it's just Post Strike Damage.

EV, at first I thought that, but the grooves are so deep. It's almost like T-BOP says, stale cracked cookie.
I hope a few more have ideas. However I think you may be right. I kinda hope not though.

Years ago the common coating for a cent was olive oil. But being organic, that was discontinued. (being organic, it was subject to rot) I wonder if this is the cause of what we are seeing on this coin?
