Ricky Tabasco has really been pushing these lately. Is there much of a market for this ugly (in my opinion) blah coin? Just asking.

Of course! Plenty of interesting things happened during the Kennedy series, and it's one of the most well known coins outside of us numismatists. I'm sure if you looked for a Kennedy half dollar you thought had nice eye appeal, you would find a nice Kennedy. Maybe a nice 1966 SMS DDO. |

I love stacking the 64's on the cheap. Shiny, crisp and about 12 x face.

Read through the forum. All kinds of posts on Kennedy's. Have you ever really looked at the reverse of one? I love collecting and using them!  |

I don't seriously study them, but I do accumulate them,
when the price is right.
I do the same with Australian .925 sterling silver coins, 1910 - 1945, buying price relative to their bullion value.
I guess that makes me a secondary silver stasher, collateral to my primary numismatic interests in other areas.

You must remember this is just a hobby. And due to that people collect all kinds of stuff. There are coin collectors of all sorts. Errors, dented coins, coins with stamped stuff, all new coins and on and on and on. That is one of the great things about this coin stuff as a hobby. Not limited to just one thing. Massive varieties of coinage.

I'm serious enough about them that I get every date/mm/special strike Kennedy they come out with. I still don't have the '98 matte proof, but it will be had eventually. I just recently added the 2019-S Cu-Ni clad proof to my Dansco, and I couldn't resist a 2017-S EU SP70 on the cheap.   |

I have a handful of Kennedy half dollar coins. I like them. Darth Morgan shows a beautiful example. So yes There is interest in this coin. |

I inherited a piggy bank full of every Kennedy that my mother got in circulation from 1964 until she passed. After a few years I decided to sort them out and found that I had all but a couple of the the coins to complete a set from '64 through 2000. I added those ('70-D, 82-P), the sms's, nifc's, and proofs, both clad and silver. I didn't include all the special finish proofs that they've been coming out with lately, just the ones that come in the silver proof sets. I still need a couple of the silver proofs from the last 6 years, then I'll be up to date and just have to keep up with the new issues. When you see the entire collection, it's quite impressive and it's easy to see how someone could get excited about collecting them. |

I collect them all, the many varieties, and have all the Daniel Carr overstrikes as well. I personally like the REV design, and I like the coin overall b/c I respect the true patriotic mindset of JFK - he knew what it meant to be an American, wanted to preserve that, appreciated where our country came from, and wanted to make sure the US way of life and freedom kept stayed at the forefront - the moon landings are a tribute to his term in office.  ASEs are easily the most popular US coin series, but out of series that once circulated Kennedy halfs are very likely the most popular |
