Good morning everybody. I just wanted to share this 2015 North Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway quarter with you and the very nice blue toning that it has. I just happened to tilt my camera and caught it at the right angle. I have a beautiful 1974 proof Roosevelt dime as well that is immaculate looking. I believe that it shows on the adverse side the outline of the reverse from the flowers up to the top of the tunnel and North to the top of the coin, which I believe would be a strikethrough not quite sure but here are a few images. Thank you in advance for taking your time to have a look....

Beautiful toning.

In an attempt to figure out what causes the rare blue toning, where have you had these coins stored and under what conditions?

chafemasterj, I have them in a one bite two little ziplock and a 1 and 1/2 by 2 and a half envelope that's all I just put them in there and that's how a few of them have been coming out. It's not that I go into them to see if they are actually toning like that. I just happened to go pick out a certain coin to check for an error that I may have seen in the Forum and there they were. Here is my dime 1974 S proof and it is like a Liquid Fire blue ice it is really beautiful...

It's fantastic!

Wonder if there is a chemical in the plastic bag that reacted with the coin's surfaces. Regardless beautiful results.

Probably PVC damage to the coin. It gets worse and eventually attacks the surface of the coin turning it dull looking. Not a good thing. Coin will eventually turn purple in color and look dull.
