Just found this amazing retained LAM in a BU roll. I love the fact that the rim is disrupted but the part of it that's gone is still there! There's also an RPM which is just a split on the bottom left serif. Take a look-

I'd call that a struck through debris that is peeling. Lamination tends to run in a straight line.

Also isn't it still the rim that's struck onto the coin?

coop - Do you mean there happened to be debris on the rim area when it was struck (thus raised) and now has peeled back? So what we see peeled back is MORE than just part of the rim? Confused.

I'm confused too. I think it's part of the rim. Looks like it just fits in there.

Flakes of copper and copper debris can be left over from another coin. It looks like this one was struck on the face and the edge. It happens.

So basically, the rim was removed and then the rim of another coin was struck onto this one?

I think it was the rim struck onto the coin, but I could be wrong.

Thanks. I thought it was cool. Do you think the thing that was struck on to the coin is part of the rim?

Also, how much do you think a coin like this in this condition would sell for?

And (sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just curious) what would I label this coin as?

I would mark it as "retained struck through debris". The coin looks like it is nice shape. To the right person $3-5. (a collector of these) On ebay the price could be higher or lower.
