My Grandma asked me to help her clean out some old boxes from her storage. Well at the bottom of the last box I found what appears to be eight blank nickels. When I asked where they came from she has no memory of ever seeing them. So she has no idea where they came from. So I asked if I could have them and she gave them to me. In looked online and have learned that it's not called a blank but a plachet. But I have yet to learn if they are real or fake. So if anyone could please help me to better understand what I have it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

There not knockouts unless someone grinded the edges really well, knockouts are held in place by 1 or 2 spots and leave a little metal tang or divot if the tang stayed on the box.these appear to have a edge

They will stick to a magnet if they are not coin blanks.
