Looks like just coincident damage in that area, from circulation wear and tear.

Not seeing actual 2 of anything. The nose and mouth maybe some staining or debris. Hard to make out on my end. The tear seems to be a contact mark.

I'm more curious about the elliptical shaped edge to the S/E of obverse. Does it show any indications of being ground down or do the signs follow that of an actual blanking error or clip? Thanks, Doug.

That clip is most likely not genuine, since I can still see the rim.

I dont understand how you can say its a coincidence ..3x? How can wear and tear or staining and debris just so happen to form an exact facial feature not just once but 3x? Its so clear to me..are my pics not good enough? I questioned the clip as well.. I will check after work tonite.. Also thinking this could be "wood grain toned".?

Looks interesting to me. Should send it in and see what PCGS or NGC says about it. Put on the listing (possible doubling/tripling on face). Could have a cool error coin.

I am not seeing 2 or 3 of anything - just looks like damage and a wore out coin to me.

The coin was altered. A clip doesn't look like that. It is either straight or an inwards curve.

More food for thought, I thought an elliptical shaped clip would be pronounced outward. Straight clips can sometimes flow a bit outward as well. Would need to inspect the flow lines and or the geometry to rule it one way or the other.

Also as far as I now, unless the clip is reduced to a mere fragment that's unable to reach the design rim, it can and usually will show rim(s) evident. Thanks, Doug.
