I guessed the (correct) grade then took a peak to confirm.
I think it is correctly graded. As if my opinion mattered....

I am trying to put together a half eagle mint set. 4 down and have the southern mints to go.Need another promotion at work for those. I thought that I would have to settle for a 1891 cc in xf but looked and looked and aquired this for the around the see same price.I felt this was undergraded too. I'm not the one that submitted this but know Secure service is a different animal and has done wonders for my anger management.

Without looking, I'd say XF-40.

Basically, I got the same as BigSilver (except I was a tad more pessimistic as I'm not quite so familiar with these gold CC pieces). I'm glad my grading skills aren't getting too rusty though!

I would have thought xf too. What are your guys' opinions of PCGS secure service vs regular service? Grading seem different to anybody when comparing these to PCGS services

Would the community pay a little bit more for a coin that's nicer than the grade (obviously if you think it is xf40)

I'd say XF-45. Because of the dirt residue in date and CC, perhaps PCGS judged the coin to have been cleaned and hit it with a 10-point net grade.
