Strongly considering picking this one up. I want to know what you guys think it grades prior to buying it because I'm going to have to get this encapsulated. And yes, I was too lazy to photoshop out the watermark.

This is a mid-grade MS, maybe 64 or 65. Can't judge surfaces based on the photos.

Perhaps the best 2 Cents I have ever seen, even in picture form.
I will go with 65.

Die cracks as well !

I'm sure you're aware that the price jump to 65 and 66 is enormous in RD grades. That would make be nervous.

Well at the price I'm looking at I profit at 64RB. Not really worried. I don't think it can get red because of the toning. Am I wrong?

It has good detail and the typical die cracks. I am suspicious of the color as it seems juiced in the photo. These can definatly have alot of color but its very hard to tell if its original from those photos. Has the potential to be nice. Not to hi-jack your thread but this is my fancy 5, followed by a brown toner I am picking up soon. It shows similar color.

It may well be juiced, question is, do I risk it?

Juiced or arificially toned, hard to tell, If they have a fair return policy can't hurt! If not, I would pass, unless the price is significantly less then the grade they give.

But if its natural looking in hand, it could be real nice.

For 175 and a return policy Id say get it. And post your own photos here. And maybe we can help you decide. It has potential I think, even though I am not convinced the toning is natural.

That's what worries me. I have to free up the cash as well, at 16 my budget is tight. Interested in a 1999 WAM anyone?

with a great return policy, why not take a look if you like it? look high ms but cannot tell about luster and patine. surfaces look blemish free. I would take a shot to look in hand.

The only way I have managed to 'juice' a modern coin, it experiment with a mint fresh current year copper nickel coins.
Just apply heat in varying amounts to a range of coins, until a nice rainbow effect is produced.

I would certainly not risk a classic 100+ year old coin such as this one, unless I knew it was a newly struck fake.

This coin most certainly does not look fake to me, therefore, in my opinion,
toning genuine.
