Besides the spot, still a very nice doubled die to find! Congrats!

Thanks...is there anyway I can restore it?

3 hours ago I was at Home Depot looking at a big can of acetone.

My initial thought would be acetone, but I'm certainly no expert with the safe cleaning of coins, so to be sure I would wait for someone else to chime in. I don't clean my coins that often. Best of luck!

Nice find! I wouldn't try anything else besides 100% pure Acetone.

Give it a soak for 3 to 4 hours. When it's ready to come out, let it air dry or very gently pat it dry. Don't rub it, as it will ruin the coin's surfaces.

Thanks.

Will try it tomorrow if I can find some 100% acetone.

Acetone won't do anything to that spot. Verdi-Care might help it a small bit. Nice find nontheleast.

100% acetone can be purchased anywhere. The Verdi-Care looks to be hard to come by.

If I can get some Verdi-Care, I will do a Pepsi/Coke challenge (on two about equal contaminated coins) and see which cleans better.

Thanks everyone.

That will help remove the spot and the coin. Acid on zinc will help speed up the rot process.
