Got it in change from a $0.01 purchase from using a $100 bill.
And if you believe that let me know and I'll sell you that Sears tower.
This is one coin. Not sure how they did this one but sure looks great. Don't really know why someone would spend all the effort in using the same date for both sides either. However, note one is D and the other is a Phily so no mint mark. I checked the heck out of it to see if I could see a line on the edge or a line where it was honed out on one side but couldn't find any. A magic shop in our town has a large variety of these from a cent to this and they are not cheap. Also, they had cent on one side honed out to accept a dime.
Not sure if I'll keep this and start a collection of them or just give it to some kid. Been having a lot of fun with it so far.

A fun coin for sure!

It looks like the seam might be just inside the rim on the Denver side. If you look carefully with a loupe you will probably see the fine line that shows where a shaved-down Denver coin was inserted into a hollowed-out Philly coin. If that's how it was made the edge of the Philly coin would be intact, with no seam. I have a clad Kennedy half made the same way, although that was done to simulate a rotated die. The inserted coin was placed with the reverse showing, but rotated 90° from proper "coin orientation".

I have tried it using a small 20X and a 30X microscope. There does appear to be a double line on the D side but not completely all the way around. If that is where they did it, it is fantastic job.
This is the first one of a dollar I've seen. Usually they are Quarters and Nickels. The cost was a little more than I wanted to pay but since not to common a coin, I spent $15 for it.
already having about that much in fun with it. Showed it to a group I have breakfast with occationally and at first told them all it was from change. Got lots of "Yeah, right". Guess they know me to well.
