@dlw, sorry but all I see is damage. The rim took a couple nasty hits. This one is a spender.

Note the rim area? That tells me the coin was altered after the strike. The rim would be round like the rest of the rim after the strike, but damage on that area damaged the coin. Spender.

When searching for doubled dies on the quarters make sure to check out John Wexler's listings. The DDO and DDR on the States quarters and the ATB Quarters are location in a central area. So to save a lot of searching, look at this site.
States quarters:

Look at these and save yourself a lot of time. A lot of these quarters have a lot of die wear on them and Machine Doubling. Just look at the area where doubled dies are found. 99.5% of the time, they are in these areas.
