Hello all! Super excited to have finally won my first Seated dollar from a local auction today, Only have their pics for the moment, but I must say that I liked it better in hand than here! My personal guess is for a VF 35 Details. (either the old cleaning or the gash on the head will do that for sure) with a distant shot at an XF det's. Thoughts? (Also, if you don't find the coin overly attractive, the 165 dollar price tag should be!) When it gets to me I'll post a new set of pictures. Thanks!

Difficult to get a sense of surface originality from the scans.

Looks like a bad scratch on the head, unless it's a die clash.

Definataly a scratch regardless a nice example. That one will be pricy for me as I am targeting VF35 Straight for my set

i think it has low AU details. both shields look super sharp as does the plumage of the eagle. appears cleaned, but a nice example. the reverse shield on the eagle looks razor sharp. congrats on your acquisition. my first Seated dollar below was also an 1842, which I bought form a long time ccf member raw and it graded xf45 at a TPG.

You did fine at that price regardless of any problems it may have.

Looks like a bad scratch on the head unless it is a struck through error. Congrats on your first LSD.

These pics don't really show the surfaces well enough to grade from.

165 Canadian dollars? Either way, I like it. I never have owned one.

Not quite, 165 US 220 Cad! Thoughts on grade? (As I said I'll get new pictures sooner than later!)
