I have posted about this coin before, but with my new camera set up I was hoping I may be able to get a better grade. I found this in a "dateless" buffalo tray at a coin shop. I bought a large amount to take home, and noticed he hadn't checked very well for dates. This coin looks much better in hand, and the date is still nicely legible. Hoping to reach that G-04 mark. It may not reach that high but it`s worth a shot. Thank you or your time.

It's an acid restored date coin. It will always be. It will not straight grade.

Thanks to both of you, but how can you tell that it's been acid treated? I thought the date would show a much lighter color?

The etched look of the date area of the coin is what tells ms it has been acid treated.

Thank you. I could always tell by the discoloration. Guess this is a more efficient way. Thank you for the explanation!

Not sure it's been acid treated, but in my book it would be AG at best.

Thanks to both of you! Until I can find a better example I'll just use this as a book filler. Thanks!
