So, I am currently in a bit of a financial pinch, and have decided to get rid of some coins because of it.

Don't know if anyone here is interested but I'm selling some Walker, Franklin, and JFK silver halves. Also some silver eagles and an off-center Washington quarter error.

I was just looking at your coin listings, and you are stating that you will ship most of these by media mail, which is illegal since there is no media in the package. Also, if you're shipping media mail, your shipping cost is very high. Actually, most of them are high for First Class. You may want to review your listings.

Just trying to help.

Susanlynn9, I see what you mean. I was surprised when I calculated 28 Kennedys = 12.3 ounces. The USPS site calculates 12.5 oz at $2.87. This has me a little stumped, because I used to get charged $4 for mailing two rolls of wheats.

Times are tough for a lot of people, and I hope your sales go well and help you.

Thanks for the info Susan!

If anyone from the forum wins I will offer a discount on shipping.

Am I going to get in trouble for selecting Media Mail as my method of shipment?

I really wasn't paying attention.. just wanted to get the auction up and done because it's not a whole lot of fun selling your stuff.

Just as an FYI, all Media Mail packaging can be opened by USPS employees at any time to verify its contents.
Not sure you want them rifling through your coins.

Good call KurtS, and thanks for your help and kind words as well. Maybe parcel post would be the best option (because, you're right I don't want anyone but the buyer going through these coins.)

also.. do you think the moderators would let this be posted in the main coin forum for any amount of time? or does it have to stay here because it's about auctions?

thanks again

No, first class is how you need to ship. Parcel post can take weeks and you buyers will crucify you.

No, that's the reason we made this section. Also you may only post it once. I've removed the duplicate you posted in the auction discussion forum.

Thanks, bobby.

I had no idea parcel post could take weeks. It says 2 - 9 days but obviously you can't believe everything you read on the internet. I'm sure you're speaking from experience and not just trying to make USPS look better.

and sorry about posting it twice.. wasn't sure where it went (and I'm glad I put in my disclaimer saying to please delete the one that was wrongly placed haha)

Media mail is at the very bottom of the USPS totem pole, Parcel Post is only just above it.
