I've not seen one of these before. Dated 1820, it appears to be brass in composition. Its diameter is 27.4 mm, which suggests to me some sort of halfpenny token. It certainly looks to have circulated for some time. The harp motif could indicate a connection to Ireland, Wales, Scotland, or even Brittany or Canada.

Thank you both for pointing me in a more definitive direction. Clearly it's a Canadian token for which many varieties exist, and while common as a type, actual asking/selling prices seem to be all over the place.

1820 bust & harp 1/2 p token.

many of the imitations were very crudely made and as a result an MS60 might appear as a VF30 (in traditional grading standards).

it's a really difficult series to grade.

Listed by Charlton 2010 7th Edition token book as LC-60E2 if it has 9 strings. Other newer varieties may have been found since.
