That's were the mint mark should be. They moved it in 1968

@CR18, yikes that nickel spent some time in a parking lot I think! As @keith 12 noted, the mintmark is in the correct spot. The only other thing that I would note is that the side with Jefferson is the obverse while the side with Monticello is the reverse. I think that you have this backwards in the title of this thread.

Just a spender, because it was damaged after it left the U.S. Mint.
