I have an Indian Head cent I purchased on ebay. I found out the coin has altered color and want to return it.

The seller offers a 14 day return, but says the coin has to be returned in its unopened holder. The seller sent the coin in a 2x2 flip with business card taped to it. Before I discovered the coin had altered color I thought I'd keep it, so I tossed the business card. The coin is still in the flip, though.

Am I still able to return the coin, even though, technically, by taking off the taped business card the seller may think I messed with it?

I have another coin from this seller I am also returning. I received this one after discovering the problem with the first one so I left the card taped to the holder.

Should I go ahead and send both back?

Will ebay back me up on this or not?

Suggestions are welcome. I have another ten days to return it.

Thanks.

Speaking only about the seller's requirement for returns...they say "unopened holder". It sounds like you did not open the holder, only remove the business card. I would expect that should be acceptable.

You can always call them (if you paid with PayPal, log into PayPal and view the transaction to get the number)

You'll have to ask the seller. Could you force a return yes you probably could, but should you no you shouldn't if you did something that violated the return policy.

I have started the return process and have asked the seller if my having removed the taped business card from two of the holders will affect my ability to return them.

The third coin is going back since the card is still taped to the holder.

The seller responded right away and is accepting the return.
