The coin is not scratched. It is on a hard plastic case that has the scratches. This is part of a 1970 Proof Set that I bought on ebay.

To me it looks like there is doubling on Liberty as well as the year and In God We Trust.

I am not sure, so I am asking for opinions here.

Can you be more descriptive? Where do you see the doubling?

The glare may be hiding what you are seeing. Remove the glare or show the image in a different direction so it is not like a spotlight on the area you are wanting to show us. Allow the light to fall over the devices. from a different direction. Then rotate the image into a horizontal position.

I did some editing on your image and enlarged it on my computer. I can see Machine Doubling on most of the area including the mint mark. When the mint mark and the devices are all doubled in the same direction it is usually Machine Doubling 99% of the time.

I would need to see better photos of the doubling to determine what die this could be...photos like the one attached below (50c 70S PR DDO-003). There are nine different doubled dies listed in the CONECA Master Listings. http://varietyvista.com/Variety%20M....htm#_1970-S
