Titles are Important! * Are these ridges on the surface of the coin I previously posted fingerprints or not ? (See picture). I am new to this coin hobby and it is possible that it could really be fingerprints, however I felt that they are as a result of the zinc and copper mix reacting with the environment in some unique manner. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/26/2019 8:46 pm Why did I guess those years? Those years have a larger font on the devices. I knew it was zinc also. Check it out Because of the planchet pattern along with the variable toning it looks like a finger print from a distance. The picture shows the pattern on the metal. When the images are too small I see how that is what you thought it was. But note, it flows across the coin. Fingerprints are usually more curved and don't usually flow across the whole coin: Report this Post to the Staff
