Dave What you have is most likely a die clash. An image of the entire coin would be helpful.

I see it's a clash, but of what ? There is nothing on the coin that looks like the clash it came from something different then a Wheat cent.

For most of my life I never cared too much for die clashes but in recent weeks I started saving them. Interesting point I'm finding is that anytime you see really heavy die polish marks on the field of the coin (those long ridge-like lines), you'll probably see evidence of a die clash. I assume once the Mint sees a clash, or maybe the skilled workers can hear it when it happens, they probably put a grinding wheel across the face of the die to polish a layer off of it.
I can see die polish marks across the field in your photo.
You might see more evidence of a clash across the nose at the point closest to the eye socket, and on the reverse between the columns on the memorial building.

@DE, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that we need to see overall pics of both sides of the coin to help you understand what you have there with this cent. Thx.

Mike there are NO memorial columns its a Wheat cent. Nothing on Obverse/Reverse looks like's like it could have made this mark.

Very nice clash ! A clash of the wheat stem to the obverse is quite unusual. I'm still looking for my first.

Here is an overlay of a normal clash: First time I've noticed a clash mark in that area. Very nice find and a keeper. Not a common clash.

Thanks Coop,It's cool looking but its stamped in to the coin not raised. Die clashes are raised up on the coin right.

No that is a normal die clash. But it is unusual, because most of the rim the clashes happen more in the central areas. Like I said, it is the first one I seen there before.
