This 1909 VDB is confusing me I was wondering what y'all thought of the doubling. It's strong in "erty" of Liberty and the 190 of 1909. EPU looks a little thick, nothing noticeable on the profile or eye of Lincoln.

I know this is not exactly the correct forum for this question but I will ask anyway.

@ SSK: These are beautiful pictures. What did you use to take them?

Thanks,
Chris

I use a digital camera and a couple of adjustable lighting points for pictures of the coin. I I use a cellphone flashlight, a microscope and a lot of patience to get the close ups haha.

I have a question because I haven't seen MD like this before. Is it common for MD to be isolated to certain devices but not on the devices next to the MD effected devices? Thank you.

The notching on the BE is master hub doubling and is unrelated to the doubling on the rest of the coin, which is likely MD or ejection doubling.

Silverstacker:

It is common to have isolated machine damage. See here: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=Isolate...ine+doubling

Looks like the Machine Doubling scooped the metal over the top of the '9'. Looks more like moved snow on to that area.

Save stuff in your pockets. Lint. Sticking to a coin that maybe oily or sticky.
