Hummm... On one side alone (only) and the brown in exact continuance with the copper line on the rim ? How could the environment be so exact ?

It's Environmental Damage, not a mint error. It's Post Strike Damage ( PSD). It clearly did not happen at the U.S. Mint.

Kind of similar to laying on your obverse or reverse at the beach on a sunny day. One side exposed to the elements, while the other is protected. You may note a similarity to the change in toning when you flip over. Thanks, Doug.
