I came across this penny at work while opening a roll of pennies.
I would like to know how much that it might be worth.

It is almost certainly plated. Worth 1 cent.

To CCF! It's been artificially plated. As to value, it's worth only 1 cent.

Plating will often create a magnetic surface.

To the CCF

We see these a couple of times a week.
Probably nickel plated which would make it magnetic.
No extra value.

You have a 1996 cent that someone has nickel plated after it left the mint. Value 1 cent.
