Can't believe this just happened to me, and this is on top of the fact that it was the only Buffalo in a roll of circulated Jeffersons. My first 3-Legged Buffalo ever; I can barely suppress my emotions right now because it's by far the pinnacle of my collecting career. This has me put almost to tears for it's sheer beauty and elusive nature. It even appears to be an ultra-high relief issue that I'm certain is an extremely rare variety for this date. I'm ecstatic to announce that I'm selling this at Stack's and Bowers to fund my retirement, to which I will die a vastly accomplished man. Oh yeah, April Fools ;) YGP

Black Diamond may have been the original 1913 model but for the three legged nickel, "Lucky" posed for that particular Denver issue. Lucky was so named because he had one glass eye and three legs. He was struck by a train just south of El Dorado and suffered those injuries in 1925. He road the cow catcher all the way to Wichita. A local veterinarian adopted him. His amputated leg is still mounted and on display at Wall Drug in South Dakota Roadside attraction. People can get a free coffee or "Where is Wall Drug?" bumper sticker if they throw their hat and it lands on the hoof.

...and don't forget to see the famous Morgan silver dollar bar at Wall Drug! Back in the 70s Wall Drug was the first place I ever saw a flying jackelope.
