I've not been very diligent in keeping a catalog of my inventory but that has started to change as I become more serious about the hobby. Over the last couple of days I took a 24" x 36" sheet of paper and wrote every date and mint mark for Wheats and began grouping my coins together. I estimate this count is from a search of somewhere between 300,000 and 400,000 pennies.
After writing all the counts in a notepad I created an Excel spreadsheet and included all the mintage numbers.
I've collected 1,807 wheats and with the exception of a few surprises the numbers of coins I own run perfectly with the numbers produced. I now have a very cool map to work with. I'll give most frustrating award to still not finding a steel penny.

Using under 60,000,000 as the mark I have a total of six coins. In chronological order goes as follows.
1917d at 55,120,000 comes in at number six.
1921p at 39,157,000 comes in at number four.
1925s at 26,380,000 comes in at number three.
1929s at 50,148,000 comes in at number five
1936s at 29,130,000 comes in at number two
And my best coin for least amount produced is the 1938d with 20,010,000.
Just typing this post makes me want to run out and buy a box. It truly is the thrill of the hunt and that rare find that makes it all worth it.

I have all my Canadians done too except for the spreadsheet. The count there stands at 1,172. If anyone is interested I could post the results once complete.
